Run by one person β Anushka, an Indian graduate now living in Germany. Free written guides, practical Leap Lab sessions, a focused 1:1 guidance option, and deeper founder-led support when it genuinely makes sense. No university commissions, no guarantees, no copied documents.
Four ways to use this site
You do not have to pay us to get something useful out of this site. Start wherever you are.
Long guides on the Bachelors and Masters routes, German language exams, the new dMAT test, costs, and a filterable list of 30 universities.
For you if you are still working out whether Germany is realistic, and what it would take.
Open the Germany hub βThe Leap Lab for practical live sessions, and The Leap Jobs for working student roles, internships, graduate programmes, and entry-level opportunities.
For you if you want practical next steps beyond reading, whether that means a live session or a jobs search.
Explore opportunities βA focused personal conversation for questions about study, jobs, applications, Opportunity Card planning, and the next practical step from where you are now.
For you if you want clarity on a specific situation before committing to a bigger process.
Request a 1:1 session βAnushka working on your application personally β shortlist, documents, APS and VPD steps, visa preparation, and arrival planning. It begins with a profile evaluation so the fit is honest from the start.
For you if you want one person working closely with you through the process, not just one conversation.
See services βThe Leap Europe is a mentorship, not a visa authority, an immigration law firm, or a representative of any university. We do not decide admissions and we do not decide visas. We help you prepare for both, and we say so plainly when something is outside what we can do.
What we help with
Germany-first guidance, with other European options discussed when they genuinely fit your profile.
A realistic shortlist based on your academics, budget, goals, and programme fit.
Your statement of purpose and CV, questioned and edited across drafts. You write them; we make them harder to ignore.
Clear guidance on requirements, deadlines, and what applies to each university.
Document organisation and process guidance without pretending to control official decisions.
Calls that explain finances, safety, timelines, risks, and practical decisions clearly.
Support with SIM, banking, Anmeldung, health insurance, transport, and settling in.
Study abroad costs
The real amount depends on your state, programme, city, rent, insurance, and personal situation. Here is a safer way to plan.
Our estimates, checked August 2026 β plan against them, then verify anything binding at the source. The blocked account is not a fee and not money you earn there: it is your own funds, deposited before the visa and released back to you monthly. *Baden-WΓΌrttemberg charges every non-EU student, and some Bavarian universities charge several times that, so check the fee page of each university on your shortlist.
Every line above β plus the deposit, insurance, setup fees and application costs β is set out with our estimate and the official source beside it in the free Germany guide's cost table. Amounts are set annually by the German authorities and by each university, so treat ours as a planning figure and theirs as the binding one.
What nobody tells you
Four things that surprise most Indian students in their first term, and what to do about each.
Much of German bureaucracy happens in German. City registration (Anmeldung), rental contracts and insurance paperwork are usually German-only, even in cities where daily life runs in English. Read every form before you sign it, and get help translating the rental contract in particular.
Your first month can feel overwhelming. Registration, bank account, insurance and enrolment all fall in the same two weeks, in that order, and each one blocks the next. Book your Anmeldung appointment before you fly β in some cities the wait is several weeks.
The costs nobody puts in the brochure. Student health insurance, the semester contribution, a rental deposit of two to three months' rent, and the household broadcasting fee are all real and all recurring. Amounts change yearly β our free Germany guide lists each one and links to the official source rather than quoting a number that goes stale.
The language barrier is real even in English programmes. Your course may be in English; your doctor, landlord and city office will not be. The level you need for admission and the level you need to live comfortably are two different things β the exam guide separates them.
How we work
Not a comparison with anyone else β just what we hold ourselves to, stated specifically enough that you could hold us to it.
We take no money from any university, agent or partner β only from the student. That is the reason a shortlist we hand you can be argued with on its merits: nothing on it is there because someone paid for the slot.
Your statement of purpose is drafted from your own material, in conversation with you, and you write and own the final text. We will edit, question and push back. We will not hand you a document about a person who is not you.
What is included, what is not, how many universities, and over what period β settled in writing before any payment. If the answer to something is "that is outside what I do", you hear it then, not later.
We do not promise admission, a visa, a scholarship or a job, because none of those decisions are ours to make. What we can promise is preparation, and an honest read on your chances before you spend money on applications.
Every call is open to your parents, and the money and safety questions get answered directly rather than deflected back to you afterwards. This is a family decision and it is treated as one.
Support runs through visa preparation and the first weeks in Germany β registration, bank account, insurance, housing β because that is the part where students are most alone and least prepared.
New for Summer 2027 applicants
The dMAT is being added to APS documentation for Masters applicants whose degree is in Engineering, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or Management. It applies from the Summer Semester 2027 intake, and registration closes on 15 September 2026. It does not apply to Bachelors or PhD applicants.
What the dMAT means for you βThe Leap Lab
Each Leap Lab is built around one outcome β rewriting your CV for German recruiters, sitting an A2 mock test, building an honest student budget, or mapping your application timeline. Four Labs are planned. None has a date yet, and you can register your interest in the ones you want.
Explore The Leap Lab βThe Leap Jobs
A dedicated jobs discovery space for working student roles, internships, graduate programmes and entry-level opportunities across Germany and Europe.
Explore jobs βFree resource
A free, practical guide to blocked-account funds, tuition exceptions, APS vs VPD, hidden costs, and choosing a German city.
Read the guide βImportant
I keep the intake small because I am doing this alongside a full-time job in Germany, and ten is honestly the number of applications I can think hard about. There is no version of this where I take fifty students and still know your programme deadlines by heart.
That means I turn people away β including people who could pay. If your timeline does not work, or Germany is not the right country for what you want to do, I would rather tell you that on the first call than take your money and find out together in March.
You can read why I started this in full, including the part where my own family paid for guidance that did not help.
For students beyond the big-city bubble
You do not need perfect exposure, expensive schooling, or a family that already understands studying abroad. You need clarity, planning, and guidance that explains the process without making you feel behind.
For parents
Parents are welcome on every call, and the questions parents actually ask get direct answers: what the total outlay looks like before anyone books a flight, what happens if admission does not come through, how the proof-of-funds requirement works and when the money is needed, what part-time work can and cannot cover, and who your child calls in the first difficult week.
What you will not get from us is a guarantee. No one can promise your child a place, a visa or a job, and anyone who does is selling something. What we can do is set out the real costs and the real risks in advance, in plain language, so the decision is yours to make with the full picture. The free Germany guide is a reasonable place for a parent to start.
