The Leap Europe is operated by Anushka Sharma. This notice explains what personal data we process, why we process it, where it goes, and what choices you have. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@theleapeurope.com.
Hosting: The public website is served by Render. Like any hosting provider, Render processes the technical request information needed to deliver pages and protect the service.
Privacy-minimal measurement: We record only aggregate counters for a small set of public pages and high-level actions, such as opening a page or choosing the profile-evaluation, services or 1:1 route. These counters contain the UTC date, an allowlisted event name, an allowlisted page path, and a count. We do not set analytics cookies, create a browser or session identifier, store IP addresses for analytics, read or store referrers, keep query strings, or send form contents into analytics. We do not use advertising pixels, session replay, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics services.
Why we measure it: We use these aggregate counts to understand whether important pages and routes are being used and whether something may be broken. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and improving the website without building visitor profiles, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Google Fonts: The site currently loads its public typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser may therefore make a request to Google-operated font servers. As with any web request, technical connection data such as an IP address can be processed by that provider. We do not use Google Fonts to identify or profile visitors.
What we collect: A profile-evaluation request asks for your name, email, WhatsApp or phone number, study level, highest qualification, target intake, and, if you choose to provide it, how you heard about us. If you select “Other” for your qualification, we also collect the detail you type. A 1:1 request asks for your name, email, WhatsApp or phone number, current country, current situation, main topic, the context or question you write, preferred availability, and, if provided, how you heard about us.
How it reaches us: The form is sent to The Leap Europe’s server-side API. The current production flow then sends the request to our operations service built with Google Apps Script and Google Sheets so we can review and follow up on it. The public browser does not connect directly to the spreadsheet.
Why we use it: We use the information only to handle the request you made, assess fit, contact you, and, where relevant, take the next steps toward the service you asked about. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps taken at your request before a possible service relationship.
How long we keep it: We keep these request records only for as long as they are reasonably needed to handle the enquiry, any follow-up or service relationship, and applicable record-keeping obligations. We do not use the form as automatic newsletter consent.
If you contact us by email, WhatsApp or another channel, we receive whatever information you choose to include. We use it to answer and manage your enquiry. For ordinary questions that are not part of a requested service, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Messages sent through email or WhatsApp are also processed by the provider of the service you chose. We do not copy those conversations into an unrelated marketing database.
Registrations: When you register for a Leap Lab session, we collect the registration details shown on that session, including your name, email, WhatsApp or phone number, whether you are currently in Germany, your selected session where relevant, and the session-specific answers you submit. The current registration flow is processed through our API and the same Google Apps Script and Google Sheets operations service described above.
Why we use it: We use registration data to manage the session, confirm or update your place, send joining details, and prepare the session using the questions people submit. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for the participation you request.
Optional community updates: Any separate checkbox for future community or Lab updates is optional and is never required for registration. Where you choose it, the legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Session-time chart: Where a Lab is still being scheduled, the public chart shows only aggregate counts for proposed times. It does not show names, email addresses, phone numbers or individual answers.
Topic suggestions and rerun interest: If you suggest a topic, the topic and problem you describe are stored so we can decide what to run next. Name, email and WhatsApp are optional on the suggestion form. Some Lab support records, including topic suggestions and rerun-interest records, may be stored in The Leap Europe’s PostgreSQL database on Render in the European Union rather than the operations spreadsheet.
Retention: Lab registration details and topic suggestions are kept for up to 24 months unless we no longer need them earlier or you ask us to delete them sooner, subject to any applicable legal obligation to retain a record.
If you specifically ask to receive The Weekly Leap or another optional update, we use your email address for that purpose. This is separate from requesting a profile evaluation, a 1:1 session or a Lab place. You can reply and ask to be removed at any time.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not send your enquiry or registration details to universities, admissions agents or employers for their own marketing.
We do use service providers where they are needed to run the product. These currently include Render for website/API hosting and PostgreSQL, and Google for Google Fonts plus the Google Apps Script and Google Sheets operations service. Email and WhatsApp providers process data when you choose those communication channels.
Some of these providers operate internationally, so technical or message data may be processed outside the European Economic Area depending on the provider’s infrastructure. Their current privacy information explains their own processing and transfer arrangements.
Depending on the situation, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, receive data in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.
To make a request, email hello@theleapeurope.com. We may ask for enough information to understand and verify the request, but we will not ask for unrelated data.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. For an operator established in Saarland, the supervisory authority is the Unabhängiges Datenschutzzentrum Saarland.
The Leap Europe links to universities, public authorities, social platforms and The Leap Jobs. When you leave our site, the external service is responsible for its own cookies, tracking and data handling. Check that service’s privacy information before sending personal data.
