Important: The Leap Europe is an independent guidance platform, not a visa authority or immigration law firm. We help students understand and prepare for the process. Final admission and visa decisions are made by universities and official authorities.

Our work is advisory. Universities, public authorities, landlords and employers make their own decisions, and we do not guarantee admission, visas, accommodation or employment.

The scope of each service is agreed before an engagement begins. External costs, such as university application fees, visa charges, travel, insurance or accommodation deposits, are separate.

The Leap Europe was shaped by firsthand experience. Before moving abroad, our founder, Anushka Sharma, sought professional guidance herself. But despite paying for consultancy support, she found that many important questions still required her own research. That experience helped shape the kind of guidance we want to offer students today.

Good consultancy isn't about convincing someone to study in a particular country. It's about helping you understand your options and make a decision you can feel confident about.

    We don't receive recruitment commissions from universities. Our recommendations are based on academic suitability and your interests.

  2. Your transcript comes first

    Before recommending programmes, we examine your qualifications, relevant modules, credits and academic prerequisites.

  3. Honest feedback

    If your preferred programme is unlikely to work, we'll explain the gaps. And if Germany isn't the right choice for your ambitions, we'll say so.

  4. Public universities first, where suitable

    We prioritise appropriate public universities while remaining open to recognised private institutions when there's a sound reason to consider them.

  5. A clear, agreed scope

    We explain the agreed service scope, fees and responsibilities before a paid engagement begins. Third-party expenses remain clearly separate.

The questions people actually ask before committing

Do you guarantee admission?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Admission is decided by the university, on criteria they publish and apply themselves. What we affect is the quality and timing of what you submit, and whether you applied to a sensible set of programmes in the first place.
Do you receive commissions from universities?
No. We do not receive commissions from universities, agents or education partners, and our recommendations are based on your profile and each programme's published requirements. This is why we can hand you a shortlist and explain the reasoning behind every entry, and why you can push back on any of it.
Do you write SOPs for students?
No. Your statement of purpose is written by you, from your own material. What we do is interrogate it — ask why you chose this field until the answer is specific, point out the paragraph that could belong to anybody, and check that what you claim matches your transcript. Several drafts, real editing, your words. A document written by someone else reads like one, and admissions readers see hundreds a season.
Can my parents or family be involved in the consultation?

Absolutely. In fact, we actively encourage it when the student is comfortable.

Choosing to study abroad is an important academic, personal and financial decision. For many students, their families are an essential part of that journey.

Both of our founders have personally experienced disappointing advice from education consultants. Looking back, they recognise that avoiding open discussions with their families made it harder to question the guidance they were receiving.

Those experiences shaped one of The Leap Europe's core principles: students and their families should understand not only what we recommend, but also why we recommend it.

We welcome parents or trusted family members into relevant consultations, with the student's consent, so they can understand the academic pathway, admission requirements, expected expenses, possible challenges and available alternatives.

We encourage questions, transparent discussions and independent verification of our recommendations.

The student remains at the centre of every decision. Our role is not to persuade families to purchase a service, but to help everyone involved understand the available options and make informed choices with confidence.

Do you help only with Germany?
Germany is the focus, and it is where the written guides on this site are deepest. Other European options come up in conversation when they fit your academics, budget and career goal, and we will be clear about where our first-hand knowledge of another system ends.
What level of German do I need?
It depends on the programme, and the honest answer is that there are two different levels involved. For admission: English-taught programmes generally require an English test rather than German, while German-taught programmes require a recognised certificate at the level that programme sets. For living: a working level of German makes the city office, the doctor and the landlord considerably easier regardless of your course language. Our exam comparison separates the two, and the final requirement is always on the programme's own page.
What happens if I am not a good fit?
You will be told, early, and pointed somewhere more useful. Sometimes that is a different country, sometimes a different intake, sometimes the free guides on this site, because deeper personal support would not add much in your case. Saying yes to work that cannot succeed helps nobody.
What is The Leap Europe's success rate?

At The Leap Europe, we believe that the quality of guidance matters more than a percentage.

We do not publish an admission success percentage because every student's academic background, eligibility and aspirations are different, and final admission decisions rest with universities.

Our commitment is simple: we recommend what is best suited to you, not what is easiest for us to sell.

If our assessment indicates that admission to your preferred programme is unlikely, we will explain why, identify the gaps in your profile and discuss realistic alternatives wherever possible. This may involve exploring different programmes, strengthening your academic qualifications, developing relevant skills or reconsidering your application timeline.

And if Germany is not the right destination for your academic background, career ambitions or financial circumstances, we will tell you. We believe meaningful consultation sometimes means recommending a different country, a different academic pathway or taking more time to prepare before making a major investment.

If your profile needs improvement, we will discuss what can realistically be strengthened and help you understand the possible next steps. We will never encourage you to pursue an unsuitable option simply to secure a consultancy engagement.

Our purpose is not to sell a service at any cost. It is to provide thoughtful, independent and research-based advice that helps you make the best possible decision for your circumstances.

Because the right guidance is not always about getting you into Germany. It is about helping you move towards the future that is right for you.

Is studying at a German public university tuition-free?
Many public universities charge low or no general tuition, including for international students — but exceptions exist by state, university, programme and student status, and semester contributions are charged regardless. Living costs, insurance, visa requirements and travel are all separate. Check the fee page of each programme on your shortlist; our cost breakdown explains what each line is.
What is the blocked account and do I get it back?
It is one accepted way to prove you can fund your living costs. You deposit your own money before the visa, and it is released back to you in monthly instalments once you are in Germany. It is not a fee, it is not paid to a university, and it is not money you earn there. The required amount changes yearly, so use the official figure for your application year — see the German Missions in India.
